took me half a second to tell those tanks were not Abrams

did a pretty good job making the tanks look like M1A1 Abrams. But first thing I noticed was the sprocket. Definitely not a sprocket on an M1A1. Spent the rest of the scene going back and forth between trying to enjoy the scene and picking out other things wrong with the tank. Nothing is better than an M1 Series Abrams tank and I will spot your feeble attempts at imitation every time.
Tankers lead the way Hooah! Death Before Dismount!

This is my signature, It's freakin' brilliant isn't it?

I remember reading an article about the efforts to make suitable tanks before the movie ever came out. The makers of the movie weren't trying to scam anyone; the military just wasn't selling that particular tank to private parties (movie companies) at the time. They had to make do with what they could put together.
