magnifico

In its own way, this is the best movie ever made. In a sense, it could be watched thousands of times. Because it's different every time.

Thank you, Mr. Rohmer.

It's amazing, all his films are pretty similar, but different from everything else... it's almost like Rohmer just has his own genre. And what a great genre it is.

true and i am watching it right now. just like in pauline a la plague there is a terrible discoteque scene in it. in this film it´s worst. the girls dancing with those 1990ies morons and gaspard watching. i can not tell why i am feeling so embarassed!

reply

Its great to see teen/twentysomething movies like this that aren't American. I can relate much more to Gaspard than to anyone from an American film of people this age.

I bought this on DVD last week, and watched it again. Rohmer is truly a master director... sure he made this in the twilight of his career (which is still going!), but I reckon it's a contender for his greatest work. And that's saying something.

Richard Linklater has directed movies similar to this one.

I saw it in 90s and I liked it. I rewatched it yesterday and I think it was pretty good. An interesting and refreshing story. Check it out.

Reminded you of your own experiences I imagine. It was embarrassing for him to be there and have nobody to dance with after everyone else paired off.

I liked it. It was pretty good. SPOLERS I wish Gaspard had chosen Margot. The scenery was great. It was infesting that many of the actors were first timers. I loved the music.
