(((((some spoilers)
well i only think that morgan freeman's character should feature again in a movie...
he was very cool...and it was done exactly right to see him at the end..coming out of it all ok....and it was good that his performance and character was pretty layered as well....for example the way he genuinely was saying comeon let em out....and they didn't do some silly thing where he stayed behind or did some final saving grace hero attempt to save them...but said sorry....of course i'm gonna get out of here and save myself...but at the end he does also open the doors to try n help em get out....which does in fact help em get out
he's not a good guy...but he's not THAT bad....not as bad as brian cox's character...he also says clearly that he's "doing a job"...and there's the whole bigger picture thing and everything...but i don't personally like a bunch of things that he did do....but the primary point and difference between him and brian cox...is that where freeman makes things more personal and is more human..as opposed to professional...it's on the good side...as opposed to brian cox who gets personal and indulgent and "sloppy" on the bad side...power getting to his head...getting too big for his boots...god complex...all that
freeman does show a conscience....and we don't know if he would have actually killed/put down keanu reeves later....he just says to brian cox "that's my problem...when the time comes...i'll handle it" specifically using the words "i'll handle it"....and as he says later...the decision had already made for brian cox to be retired....it was brian cox who was gonna be handled and put down when the time comes...
