Sony Pictures Classics, You Need to Release this on DVD!!!

I saw this film in the theater ten years ago and it made an indelible impression on me. I loved it for providing an intimate glimpse of a very specific part of Paris while simultaneously depicting some powerful universal truths in a charming and understated way. I saw this film with two other girls, all of us around Chloe's age, and each of us deeply related to one or another aspect of her struggles. I still recall many scenes from the film vividly, and my heart is stirred once again just remembering the scene of Chloe running through the streets of Paris ...

I recently decided to buy this film, only to discover it is not available as a region 1 DVD! It is really a shame that this little gem is doomed to be unseen by so many who would appreciate its charms. Now that Amelie has proven there is a market in America for offbeat French melancholy whimsy (now there's a genre), it is high time that Sony Pictures Classics releases Chacun Cherche Son Chat in the US. I encourage anyone who agrees to email them at [email protected] and request this film's release on DVD in the US. I realized that this is not the most pressing topic on the planet, but hey, if you ask for nothing then that's exactly what you'll get ...
