Urban Legends and Scary Stories

In school everyone used to tell scary stories and urban legends to try and freak people out and I used to love hearing them. Think thats why I love this film. Anyway does anyone know any other good scary stories apart from the ones mentioned on here?

One that I can remember is about this girl who's parents go out for the night and leave her alone in the house (isn't that how they always start lol.)Now stay with me here its been a long time since I heard it so I probably tell it wrong but you'll get the idea.

She dosn't mind being left though because it means that she can have sole use of the remote and comfy chair. So the girl goes into the kitchen and makes some popcorn and icecream before settling down in the her favourite chair in front of the tv and directly opposite the huge french windows. As the girl flicks channels the fine little flakes of snow that had been falling all day stop, leaving the garden covered in a thick blanket of white. Just as she finds a film she likes she thinks she hears something so she turns off the tv and listens. After a while she decides that she must have imagined it and putting it down to exhaustion closes her eyes for a little nap. A couple of minutes later she can sense something is wrong and snaps her eyes open to see a man standing outside the window looking in at her. On impulse she throws herself forwards out of the chair and rolls to the left grabbing the phone from the cradle as she runs for the kitchen all the time keeping her eyes on the man standing at the window. Once shes locked herself in the kitchen she rings the police. The police arrive and circle the house before going inside to look for signs of an intruder. However neither of them can see any footprints in the snow and put it down to the girls over active imagination. That is until they enter the house and see a puddle of water behind the girls chair and a knife embedded in the cushion. Luckily for the girl she had been able to barricade herself into the kitchen and wait for help. So you see the man she thought she saw wasnt standing outside looking in he was standing inside looking out.

i've always loved to hear stories too.

quick question, what do you mean he was inside looking out?

she opens her eyes and sees a guy at the window looking at her, but they find out he was inside looking out?

reply

He was behind her, and he was looking out at the door, at her reflection.

Love among the pancakes.

this is pretty scary..

A girl gets on the subway in New York after a night of clubbing. Its late and the trains are running local. Finally the train comes and she gets inside. She sits down and there are three people sitting in front of her. Nobody else was in the cart. She was a little drunk and didnt want them to know so she made little eye contact. There was a female in the middle with two heavy-set men inbetween her. The girl saw that the woman in the middle kept looking at her. From the corner of her eye she could see the men looking at her and nodding to one another. Finally the train stops and another man gets in. He sits down next to the girl and immediately sees the three across. He immediately turns to the girl and starts to call her by a random girls name. The man goes in for a hug and while he hugs her he whispers "That girl in the middle is dead. Get off now!" The girl froze until the train got on the next stop. The man and the girl get off the train and as the girl looks back, she sees one of the big men wave goodbye with the dead girls hand. the train doors close and the train takes off.

Well I don't know if this one can be considered an urban legend since it's hard to find but I think it's worth telling.

There was a woman who went to church every Sunday, and usually the bells rang when she was getting ready, but one day they were ringing when she was still in bed. She figured she was late, so she hurried out of bed, got dressed, put on her hat and coat because it was late in the year and hurried out without looking at the clock. As she headed to the church she saw that it was still dark out and there wasn't anybody else around and the only sound she heard was the clatter of her own shoes against the pavement. She took a shortcut through the cemetery to get to the church and when she sat down, the service had already started. Looking around she saw a lot of people she didn't recognize, then she turned and saw one woman sitting next to her that she knew. But there was a problem because the woman she saw had died a month ago. Then the woman looked around again and saw that there were skeletons in suits and dresses and she realized it was a service for the dead, everybody there was dead except her. The ghosts turned and started looking at her as though she had no business there, and the woman next to her warned her if she valued her life, to leave right after the benediction. And when the preacher finished the service, she got up, grabbed her hat and coat and started to leave when she heard foosteps behind her. Turning around she saw the dead get up from the pews and they were coming after her, so she turned and ran. She ran out of the church with a gang of ghosts following after her, they tore off her hat and her coat and screamed at her to get out and don't come back. As she ran out of the cemetery she saw they were no longer behind her and she was alone and the sun was starting to come up. When she got home she started to wonder if she'd dreamt the whole thing, but later that afternoon, one of her friends came over with what was left of her coat and hat, they had been found in the cemetery beyond the church torn to shreds.

Wow novastar_6, that was a creepy story. Don't think its an urban legend but still it was a great and creepy story. Heres a story thats suppose to be an urban legend.

In a small town of Kentucky there was this old war veteran. His legs were blown off in the war, and so the only way he could move around was by dragging himself around by his long long long nails. He was also a psycho. He would come around the town and disembowel people with his long long nails. So, because of this, the people were ordered to go inside at exactly 6:00 pm and lock their doors.

Well, one night a little girl asked her mom if she could go play at her friends house. The mother looked at the clock, it was 4:00. She told the little girl to be home by 5:45 because thats when "click-click" came out. The little girl agreed and was on her way. She played and played and I guess she lost track of time because when she headed home, it was already 5:48. She thought, no hurry, ill make it home on time. But that was when she saw the ice cream man. She bought one and by the time she really started to go home was 6:00. She observed people locking their doors and calling in there kids.
"Shoot, I'd better run". she thought. Finally she reached her street. But thats when she heard the noise, click click drag click click drag. It got louder and louder. She turned around to make sure he wasn't there but he was. Meanwhile, her mother was inside getting ready for bed, she figured her daughter was already asleep so she decided not to wake her. Then she heard knocking and pounding on the door, she figured it was the click click an paid no attention. It was really her daughter though, wanting to come inside. The next morning, the mother opened the door to get her newspaper only to find her daughters body and in blood written on the tree was, "Mom why didn't you open the door?"

I read that one, but it's gotta make you wonder though, why didn't anybody ever kill him when they knew he would be coming around?
