Accents

A superb film this, but as with so many others, marred by having non-English characters speak English amongst themselves for no apparent reason. Whilst the German officers would speak English with the English, Irish, American and Canadians in the film (thereby showing the typical anglophone's ignorance of other languages), they would hardly do so when in their own company. This is a great pity, particularly as most of those playing the Germans sound, from the few German lines they are allowed to utter, as if they are quite capable of speaking German perfectly well.
