It's not Shakespeare, but the mid-5s? Come on!

There are worse action movies than this. Travolta is his usual queen hamming it up, which is always fun to watch. Christian Slater is a perfectly fine good guy. Mathis is in a somewhat disposable female supporting role but she has nice chemistry with Slater and the film doesn't reduce her to a sex object at the earliest possible opportunity, which is more than you can expect from the lower end of this genre. Woo is all slow-mo and every shot is the most important thing that's ever happened to anyone, anywhere, ever. Hans Zimmer's guitar riffs and unexpected 'El Mariachi' infusions are nice to listen to as well. The climax is suitably relentless too, as they stage quite a lot of fun ways to explode things and beat each other up. A TV movie with a bit more cash, executed well. Cheesy but good spirited, inoffensive entertainment.

6/10

I agree with Concise_Statement's statement! >:o)
This is no piece of cinematic platinum, but as disposable action faire goes, I liked it! And I’m not really the biggest fan of your average testosterone-driven action-thriller!
If you want a champagne and caviar movie experience, look elsewhere. If you want a fun popcorn munchin’ flick, I’d recommend this movie!

My, you're nosey, aren't you?

For some hideous reason, I got it into my head that the word 'to' was 'too'. Very embarrassing. And now corrected. (I guess it's that thing where I'm typing what I'm quietly saying which means homophones come out wrong.)
