Bess' Second Trip Back To The Big Ship (Spoilers)

1) Why did she go back? Did she think it would cure her husband if she acted as a martyr or was she looking for revenge?

2) Was there any mention if the men who savaged her were caught and received punishment or was the entire situation blamed on Bess?

1. She thought it would heal him. And as we see in the Epiloguw, he did make a miraculous recovery.

2. Never says, but it's not important to the story. I can see either being true.
