The police found her and we saw her being transferred from a smaller boat on a stretcher into the medics' care.
The boater who used his fishing boat to take women to and from the anchored ships to do their "business" was a kind of watch dog for the women, in his own weird way.
When he first took Bess to the "bad boat" she asked him how she would get back to shore.
He replied (paraphrasing), "I'll be watching out for you when you're ready." As the taxi service per se he was watching for the women to signal they wished to have a ride back to land.
He knew he had delivered her once again into the hands of the sadistic boat crew. When she did not return on schedule or make an appearance, him knowing it was dangerous on that boat, he would have quickly contacted the police to see about her welfare.
Given the fisherman's watch dog role, one presumes the police found her after he raised an alert, or that somehow she at least made her way to the deck to be seen by the fisherman and he picked her up or called police for help then, seeing the state she was in.
It all came down to the fisherman who was watching out for her, as he did with the women.
I don't think it's important that we have the graphic details. Suffice to know she was involved in behaviour which result in physical injuries and psychological trauma, to which she ultimately succumbs.🐭
