It would be better with Jason Schwartzman as Anthony?

Don't misunderstand me. The film is great and I like the performance Luke Wilson did as Anthony, but after have seen all the Wes Anderson movies I got the feeling that the character could have been perfect for Jason Schwartzman.
Anyone else thinks the same?

Schwartzman is a good actor but would have been far too young. He is a good 12 years younger than Owen Wilson and would have been 14 or 15 at the time Bottle Rocket was filmed. That friendship of Dignan and Anthony at the center of the movie wouldn't have worked.

I haven't seen he was born in 1980. You're right, he was too young for the role.

Even without the age logic, I don't think Jason would've shared their chemistry here.

Bottle Rocket wasn't quite yet all the way into Wes' style as we've come to know it, most of the guys here reminded me of 80's style light comedy. Jason's sense of humour & screen presence isn't nearly as laid back as Luke Wilson's which served this movie, & esp his light romance with Ines.

I didn't care for Luke Wilson in this film or The Royal Tenenbaums so anyone else might have been better.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.

I don't think Anthony would be a good fit for Jason Schwartzman.

Can't stop the signal.

He'd make a great Bob.
