I remember this series but,

I forgot there was a fourth good beetle borg, and I can't remember the borg name, if any knows tell me, because for some reason it's driving me insane.

Is it just me, or did Jo have a crush on him? I mean the way she asked if he was quitting on them got me to thinking.

Uh-oh.
Not a word you want to hear in this house.
Catch ya on the flip side.

Yes, Josh was a temporary love interest for Jo. When the writing team realized that they didn't have the stock footage or funds to keep Josh on the show, they made up some sort of New Age BS about how he would cease to exist because he was only created to defeat Shadowborg.

In other words, the writers only allowed themselves to go through with the story so they could sell another toy; but had zero commitment to developing the new hero into any sort of meaningful role. In the end, only Drew got something out of the deal: a battalizer. Sure, they may not have CALLED it as such; but that's more or less what it was. Unique in that they were doing it before the Power Rangers were, officially speaking. (Jason with the Dragon Shield doesn't count.)

The biggest problem Saban was having with this show (hence the New Age BS cop-out plots) was that they were quickly using up all their useful stock footage. Also, because they owed so much to Toei for footage rights to begin with, they were obligated to shoot their own footage on the cheap. Therefore, they couldn't afford a lot of new footage. So when they ran out of stock from Japan, they were screwed. Then again, that was the reason that the Power Rangers had to constantly get new zords. Because Japanese have even lower attention spans than Americans when it comes to giant robots.
