Flabber-backstory and other questions.

I've been rewatching the show on Netflix and have a few questions about Flabber in particular. I've gotten over halfway through season one-at episode 36 at the time of this post.

I know in one of the early episodes we see him in cat form mention that he went over to a neighbor lady's house and got a saucer, but in every episode from that point out, he doesn't leave the house except to go on the front porch for some random things. Any other time that we see him while the Beetleborgs are out of the house, it's his head superimposed onto a magazine or something similar when he needs their help with something/attack happening. So far, there's been nothing that tells us how much he's tethered magically to his organ. I know that the three notes that Jo first plays that freed him can put him back in to it.

Also, there's not much mentioned by him, or any other character, so far about his backstory. It's mentioned that he knew Houdini somehow, as well as the Phantom. On top of that, he's supposed to be a master phantasm of the 7th dimension. How he originally got into the human world, then attached to his organ, has yet to be mentioned.

Does anyone know how far he can go from the house/organ? What is his past?
