Okay, I know it was released to TV in 1996 in the US, but the movie Phenomenon with David Gallagher was released the same year, filmed earlier in 1996. There is no way this was filmed that year. David is much younger in this movie. My best guess would put the filming of this in 1993 - 1994.

Five years late but I hope you read it. Lisa Jakub, who plays Annie, has recently written a memoir and, in of the chapters, she mentions it was filmed in 1995. IMDb lists filming locations in Orlando, FL. As a matter of fact, only some of the dolphin scenes were filmed in Orlando. Everything else was filmed in Honduras. The underwater shots of Annie swimming with the dolphins, exploring and getting stuck in the sunken plane were shot in Honduras and Lisa did her own stunts. The part where she's doing tricks with them was done in Orlando and they used a professional trainer as a stunt double. If you'd like to check out her book, it's called "You Look Like That Girl: A Child Actor Stops Pretending and Finally Grows Up." It was released just last June.
