I kept expecting Jacob to confess to killing the girl on purpose. When he told his parents about the accidental death, it sounded phony. Did anyone else think so?

Edward Furlong really phoned in his performance. Or maybe he was on drugs. Way too sulky.

So did he kill her? I saw this movie a long time ago and I don't remember if he killed her or not?

I agree with you. It sounded like a made up story like when an 8-year old breaks the vase in the house and makes up a story so he won't get in trouble.
