Canoe scene location?

Does anyone know where (in Florida?) that last scene where they are rowing the canoe toward the drawbridge is? Just curious.

reply

Not sure about this, but I have been on a boat in Tampa Bay just north of downtown St Petersburg, there are some inlets that have bridges that look just like this.

Reminded me of Blue Spring.

They're raising the bridge for a canoe? Pretty funny.

reply

I don't think that was anywhere near Tampa, I thought it was somewhere near Miami.

I think the credits said Sarasota

reply

I've just reviewed the credits in slow motion... not Sarasota, but Saratoga, NY, which still leaves the OP question open.
Odd that the credits fail to give that location. I lived in Fort Lauderdale and Miami and spent much time around many bridges on Florida's Intra-costal waterway (ICW) between Miami and West Palm Beach. The overpass behind the bridge definitely looks like the area going through Miami, possibly just North of Coconut Grove. But West Palm also has a relatively high overpass area, though it might not yet have at the time this film was made. I think the Miami overpass (the mountain :) is the older around there.

I'd bet near the end of the I95, the overpass behind the bridge looks like Miami's "Mountain" ! :)
Minutes before arriving in Coconut Grove.
Now why that's not mentioned in the credits is really odd.
