Sandra's speech about fighting *Spoilers*

I just watched this movie today for the first time, and it is already one of my top five. It is probably the best gay romance I've ever seen.

But I have to say Sandra's dramatic speech about fighting towards Tony is one of the best scenes in the movie. Her acting is absolutely incredible, and it made me respect the character. For most of the movie, I wasn't sure what to think of her, but in that scene, it is made clear that she is a deeply loving woman who would do anything for her son, and who has been through so much pain and struggle.

Such a *beep* brilliant film. If only American gay films could be this good.

This is gonna *beep* do for him what "Jade" did for David Caruso.

I do love this scene. Linda Henry is so wonderful in it and it really packs an emotional punch.

I felt the same way when I first saw this movie, but that scene did it all for me. I first saw this when I was senior in high school in '96, and I had always admired her in that scene and wished that my mother would be like that. It's not that she was ashamed of me, she just didn't have information or other resources to know any better, so wouldn't know how to react when other people were to find out that her son was gay. So instead embracing it, I was hidden from others and had been kept a secret.
