Admit it. Most played out song in American history, and nothing makes me want to walk out of a bar faster than that jingle blasting out of the jukebox and some morons singing along. That song should be retired by every radio station in the world and every restaurant, bar, or eating establishment.
It has been big here in Massachusetts for a long time because they play it during the 7th inning stretch at Red Sox games. It also was very popular at weddings and bars just because of the sing-a-long aspect.
It has gotten annoying over the last 10 years or so, but I've gotten older.

Yep, hence why they didn't sing the "so good so good so good" in the film. The Boston fans started that in 1997.

shareIn 1996 this was a forgotten joke kind of song sort of like playing Ice Ice Baby or Marky Mark now. Since this movie it's become overplayed and a cliche.
