Easy Top 5

Not sure why, but I simply love this film. Wish there was a Blu-Ray with commentary.

Easily in my top 5 of all time.

Yeah, when people ask me what some of my favorite movies are I usually don't mention this one because it is hard to explain why. I too watch it at least once a year, I have the DVD. There is something about the themes that just strikes a chord. All the characters are great, especially Hutton and Portman. I usually avoid anything with Rosie O'Donnell but her monolog in the store with the two guys following her is one of the best I have ever heard in any movie.

The whole thing is just an inspired movie. Even on repeat viewings it never fails to draw me in.

I saw this movie for the first time about a year ago. I was so mad with myself, how did I let this movie escape me for so many years? The movie instantly made my favorites list.I love the soundtrack to this movie, every song seems to fit the scene perfectly. Willie, Marty and Paul are my favorite characters in the film. I really like Tim Hutton in this role, he delivers his dialogue so naturally, you can't tell he's acting. And who better to play the mysterious little girl, we know as Marty than Natalie Portman? Another great performance by Natalie. Michael Rappaport is perfect for the role of Paul. Everybody has known someone like Paul at sometime in their life. Paul is the type of guy that can get on your nerves really fast but at the same time be a very likable guy. A great story with very good actors. I still can't believe this film escaped me for so long.

Saw this film as a 16 year old back in 97 and fell in love with it... didnt tell my friends about it either lol.

It helped that I have the biggest crush on Natalie Portman since Leon the Professional when I first saw her in it back in 1994.
