This movie always has and always will boggle my mind no matter how many times I have watched it.
I cannot fathom nor understand a woman that would be so desperate for a man's "love" and attention, that she would put her child in such a situation as the one depicted here. Absolutely sickening and yet it actually happens every day everywhere IN REAL LIFE!!!
And that she would be so further desperate in her thinking that she was never good enough or somehow deserved this mother *beep* to actually stay with him after the last rape attempt that she walked in on and never really having known he had raped the child while she was in labor with their baby is just.....just...I cannot even find words.

It's very disturbing. How any "mother" knowingly lets her husband abuse her child, knowingly rapes get child, chooses her husband over her child, is beyond disturbing.
It happens every day. It's pathetic & the mothers who let someone do that are as guilty as the molester. SICK

The last time was not an attempt. She caught her husband actually raping her daughter and she still stayed with him; she didn't even go to the cops. That was the first time things progressed to full intercourse but he had been beating and molesting her for years. IMO the mother and stepfather both deserve prison.
