Would anyone happen to know what the song is that is playing while Basquiat sees the surfer in the sky? It's the time he is looking through the window from the outside of the party. The sounds like some French impressionistic piano concerto. Any help would be appreciated.

shareThe Basquiat (film) page on Wikipedia lists the songs in the film in order, but the track you're asking about is not listed. It's certainly not an impressionist French piece (e.g. Debussy). Therefore it must have been composed by John Cale and/or Julian Schnabel.

This might not be of any help, as I may be thinking of the wrong song, but I realised a song that was being played twice in the movie--once where Basquiat was being beaten up by the two guys in the alley. It's a song from Henryk Górecki's 'Symphony No. 3', although I can't remember which track exactly.
Sorry if I couldn't be of any help, but I figured at least a few people were wondering where that particular track originated.
