Did anyone else feel sad for Gina?

I know we're supposed to feel resolved about Gina going to medical school but it's still sad when she moves on. That moment in the gallery where courtney love's character sweeps the pink scarf off her shoulders is just too beautiful!

It's a good device to let us know how overwhelmed J.M was feeling but I just felt so sympathetic for her.

I thought it was so funny though, when J.M was up late painting and then he painted all over one of her paintings and then she grabs the brush and smears over his painting saying 'dyuh like that?! How do you like it when I paint all over your painting?!' and then he softly murmurs 'it looks good!' whilst she's screaming at him in a rage.

JM was a jerk, and I felt sad for Gina throughout the entire film.

It was such a beautiful love story between him and Gina. Every time I see that restaurant scene I get sad. I really wanted them to be together forever. I have a hate/love relationship with that dinner scene.

For me it was the first time I could see clearly that they were headed for pain and J.M.B. was not going to be able to stay grounded. And that was when Gina tried to tell him to wait just a minute and she could go with him to see his new studio building and he and the other chick just walked out the door and left her.

I felt bad for her watching her stand there feeling alone while with J.M.B for the first time. And I felt bad for me all over again cause I remember what that felt like. That scene broke my heart.

There were a couple of times that she reminded me of sadness in my life, too.
Forlani's very good in this.

Thanks for sharing that...I felt bad for her as well.

Actually, I feel the Gina character was extremely mousey and borderline pathetic. Almost like she was in a haze (especially the scene when JM walked in when she was making a sandwich.) Complete doormat and I wondered what she saw in him , as he treated her so badly.

I did feel like the scene in the restaurant was sad, and that they were both hurting, although it was too bad that the love before that wasn't shown very well. Odd that I would feel it later but not earlier.
