Zane did what Fox Mulder didn't or couldn't do.

Expose the truth to everyone.

The one thing that was pathetic about Mulder was that he was trying to expose the government. The very government he worked for. He thought he could do it by still being a government agent. You can't expose this kind of truth and still think that you can do it by working for very people who cover up this stuff. Even after everything that Scully saw she was just getting pathetic by every episode. And having a parther like that didn't help one bit. Mulder also wasn't that careful when he had proof right in his hands. What Zane said at the end of the movie is something Mulder hasn't thought of.

"You tell them. You go back and you tell them that I know. That she knows. That other people will know! It's not going to be easy. Not anymore."

The truth will or would have people going crazy but who said it was going to be easy.

Mulder had so many chances and he blew it too many times. Those men in the last episode of the X-Files were right when they said he failed.

This forum is for "The Arrival", not the x-files. It seems you have a grudge against Mulder. Guess what? It was a *TV SHOW*, meaning, IT WASN'T REAL.

Have a nice day.

He's talking about The Arrival. He's making a comparison of the Zane Zaminski character and the Fox Mulder character. It is relevant. Guess what? this movie was a movie, meaning, IT WASN'T REAL either.

We're not stating facts, the assumption is that this movie and X:Files are fictional, but the discussion is about what the characters uncover or don't uncover. This person is saying Zane did what Mulder couldn't do. How is that not relevant? This is a discussion board.

I was just thinking about this post and movie, and someone replied again. Weird. I think the Mulder situation was bound by the series. His character had to be a certain way for so long. In a movie, you can solve things within an hour or 2.............(in your face 'last year's me!")

That is all.

I support the concept driving this thread. Oh and...

anyone who says "it's just a movie/televisionshow," as a response to passionate discussion--on or offline, is a complete tool.

take pleasure in how far you've come

reply

It's just a movie discussion board.

Heh... I just replied with almost the EXACT same answer as you did, but I hadn't seen yours yet...

I think you did a better job though...

'Tool'... Heh heh...

It always makes me just shake my head sadly every time I see a person use this 'Argument' when someone gets rather passionate about a film. 'It's not REAL!'

That is NOT the point at all...

Just sad...

Yeah, it's not like the person in question isn't aware that it's a work of fiction.

reply

Heh, exactly...

It's like we NEED these oh-so-rational people here to REMIND us that what we are talking about isn't 'Real'....

Thank GOD they are here... 

What WOULD we do without them... well, except maybe we'd hafta look for OTHER people to kill... 

In all fairness to Mulder he had to do this every week until no one was watching. Zane only had two hours

The X-Files pilot was good and promising.

Then it became a 'monster of the week' and 'zombies and vampires' crap, and steered away from the massively interesting potential the pilot was promising us.

It's almost like someone changed things after the pilot, to make it 'just another TV show' instead of alerting and waking up the viewers to the true reality of the UFO phenomenon and such..
