well yes she was obsessed with lisa, because of how max loved her. she wanted to be lisa and so had to be loved by max too.

In the second half of the movie, Alice became Lisa, dressed like Lisa (Max mistook Alice for Lisa), started smoking, started sleeping around, to the point of doing Lisa's job as an actress in the play. Alice thought if she became Lisa, she would be loved by Max. But Alice might have wanted to become Lisa before, since sitting lonelily in her room watching Lisa with men. It reminds me of The Talented Mr Ripley.

I watched this film many years ago, but if i remember right Alice was watching/stalking Lisa before Max came on the scene. It was clear it was Lisa that she was obsessed with. That obsession could have changed further down the line but it seemed to me that she didn't pass Lisa's message onto him to get him out of Lisa's life, not for her to get into his life.

I think you meant Alice dated Lucien. That may have been a coincidence, since she and Max never met while he was dating Lisa.

Just because a woman expresses an interest in another women doesn't mean they're Lesbians. i blame the media for pushing the acceptance of "gay" themes onto the masses. In my opinion it's immoral and wrong.
I wondered about a painting in Lisa's apartment. It was of a woman lying on her back on a couch with her clothes open showing her breasts. Meanwhile another woman is standing over her in the painting.
