Anyone know what breed of dog she was? Tons of places say she's an Irish Setter, but other than the red fur, I don't see the resemblance. And some others say Saluki, which I disagree with even more.

Why ever do you disagree with Saluki? The first time I saw the movie--no, the box--I knew instantly that that's what she was (and additionally, one of my all-time favorite characters.)

It confused the heck out of me that the moviemakers (and thus many fans) called her an Irish Setter, but I assumed it was mainly because the breed's better known (most people would have no clue what 'Saluki' meant and possibly think they were talking about a motorcycle or something!), but yet, they probably knew that they could get away with calling a red-coated dog an Irish Setter even if it didn't look like one at all. But hey, the Saluki comes in red as well (I should know since I have one!), so I rest my case.

Hmm. After I really compared them they do look similar with the ears, slimness, and the tail. O.o I'm not sure what I was thinking when I typed the first post out. Saluki does fit.

Well, *yeah*. But animated dogs usually look at least something like real ones..
