I agree the 1st movie was better then the second movie do you guys think that there should be a 3rd movie

reply

I totally agree there should be a third one where Charlie & Sasha have puppies & Bess from the all dogs go to heaven the animated series should have puppies with Itchy

reply

I'd love a third movie.
Too bad those imbeciles over at MGM don't have the brains to think about making it anytime soon.
Oh yeah, and don't hate me for this but... I kinda liked this movie.
Again don't hate me or I'll hate you. Forever.
BTW good idea, jameszpak. I would love to see what the pups would look like if they had any. Also the names of the pups.
Wait, I've got an idea! Why don't one of us make a picture of the pups and their parents, like a family photo? Or can someone at least post a link to a few peices of art that shows something like that? Thanks to anyone who does either one of those things!

cluemustard12, if someone is giving you lip for liking it, then it's their problem and they should get a life. I too liked this movie, but of course, I liked the first more. Not many sequels match with the first production (exceptions being movies like Shrek 2), but four words match my feelings for this. "It could be worse".

I wouldn't like seeing a third one. I think enough damage has been done and too much time has passed. I was born a year before ADGTH1 first came into theatres (I'm 18), so back then it wa something heard of (although a lot of the fame came off of it due to it unfortunately coming out around the same time as a few Disney movies). If they do something right now, it would be all for nothing since barely any children will remember anything from ADGTH. A lot of fans from ADGTH currently are teenagers to over 20 years of age.

reply

Oh c'mon the sequel isn't that bad. But I probably don't know what I'm saying since I never saw the original. *waits for a good beat up*

reply

I saw the original and loved it. And then I saw the 2nd one and that was good too. To me, I think their equal. I was just thinking that yesterday. They should have a third one. Itchy has to come back from heaven though. It just won't be the same. Itchy was my favorite character. He was so funny.

I'm sure if Don Bluth's company took the reigns again for it and made it have the feel of the first movie, old fans- no matter their age- would watch it. Heck, I'm twenty and I probably wouldn't mind seeing a sequel done right by the original company instead of this knock off MGM came up with.

The original is much better, but the sequel while disappointing wasn't that bad. I personally gave it a 6/10. If you want to know why, please feel free to read my user comment. Bethany

In the first film it was 1939! in the second clearly modern times (90s). the fact that itchy JUST NOW passed away is amazing. That makes him at least 60! Bess is long dead! itchy is happy dead. no nookie in heaven!

reply

I actually like this one better. It's so much more romantic... This is one of the only sequels I like.

reply

the only way I would want to see a third movie is if they get Bluth to do it with qa decent story

reply

The first one is set in 1939 New Orleans and the second one was set in modern-day San Francisco.

They screwed up big time!

reply

they need Anne-Marie (voiced by someone else however) to star in a third movie.

I like them both very much. Good music from both, but I personally perfer Number 2 for the music.

reply

no i wouldn't say it sucked...but compared to the first movie, its just..mediocre, the first one was original, the animation was incredible, it reminded me of disney in its golden years, the second was like....ok carface gets an insignia for w/e reasons, but charlie who saved a life of a little girl gets nothin..ok i guess he didn't get anything cuz he wasn't really nice up there but c'mon, and you have to admit, the first movie had a more darker side, witch in my opinion gave it a more mature feeling

reply

They shouldn't make a sequal for the fact not all dogs go to heaven anymore. Carface went to hell! lol

reply

The first one was way better than the second. The animation on the second film looked like a TV show on Cartoon Network. The first one had a better plot to it too.

reply

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I was surprised to see that Don Bluth (the guy that did the first one) had no involvement in this one at all, nor was he mentioned anywhere that I saw. Now THAT stanks! Stanky like a wet dog... :o(

I think the second one was much better. I don't really remember seeing it in the cinema but I def had it on video.I never really liked the first one too much. Charlie's voice is really weird in the first one, I like Charlie Sheen's voice in the second one.

And can I just ask, what is up with the two black dots on either side of Charlie's face?

reply

Um, idk if I'm just used to the first one, but this one does kinda fail.

The plot in this one was just kinda weak, and it was pretty cheesy. The ending was kind of stupid, too. How many times does Charlie have to come back to Earth? It's old news. I did like Sasha, but her and Charlie's relationship was rushed. She hated him at first, and fell in love with him... in a day. O.o

idk, this wasn't a terrible movie, but it didn't have the intensity of the first one. The intensity made the original feel real. This one was just an money grab, and even then...

I'll probably watch this again in my life, but its just not as good as the first IMO. I respect other opinions, though....

And the dots are often found on German Shephards... they're kinda like moles.

I adore both the original and the sequel. In fact, I like the whole ADGTH franchise, including the series (of which the Christmas Carol is a special extended episode.) This sequel also has exceptional music, characters, voice work, animation, and story...so whatever its faults, it still gets very high marks in my book.
