Many parents walked out with their kids, because of their religion

We played this movie at my theater back when it came out, and there were many walk outs. Not because it was a bad movie (it's not that bad, really. Nowhere near as good as part one, but not bad...)

No, they walked out because they objected to the movie due to their religious beliefs. I saw many parents dragging their crying kids out, mummering under their breath about how the movie was immoral. Blah, blah, blah.

One very memorable time was a mother, grandmother, and two kids who walked out half way through. The mother said "We need to have a talk..." and they sat on the bench outside the theater for a goof 20 minutes having a "talk."

It seemed these people didn't like how heaven was portrayed or how characters like Charlie were made into heroes.

Whatever.

Kudos for claiming to know the beliefs of Sarah Palin.

What on earth? I don't understand. Why was this movie considered harmful to their beliefs?

Maybe it had to do with the "eternal spa" way they treated heaven. I dunno. I come from a Christian family, and we had no trouble with it. Well, my dad was a little leery w/ the song Red sang, but that was about it.

It's a kid's movie. And kids like animals. That's about all that can be said. Those people who walked out must have been very stiff.

I am glad you are with me, Samwise Gamgee. Here at the end of all things.

When Charlie had his musical number about Heaven, my first thought was as to whether or not anybody took offense to it. Apparently, some people did. The only part of the film which I found offensive was the anti-feline sentiment.
