Jack Sparrow moment?

Did anyone else notice the parallels with the scene from PoTC where Will is captured by Barbossa's men and about to be executed, and Jack Sparrow shows up and tricks them into delaying his execution?
It seems they lifted that scene off this movie, where Cassim saves Aladdin's hide in a similar way by tricking his men.
