One accurate point the movie makes...

For those most part, After Jimmy was indistinguishable from most of the regular soap opera Liftime/Hallmark movies. However, when I saw it in 13th grade Psychology/Sociology I saw one part that I felt was extrememly on-target.

In the scene where Jimmy's mother and father are talking to the psychologist, Jimmy's mother is crying and says (paraphrased) "He may have been having problems. But why did he do this? We could have helped him!" The psychologist responds (paraphrasing again): "He was going through what many teenagers go through: times when they feel helpless. How do we expect them to navigate through the complex problems of real-life when issues on TV are resolved in the space of half an hour"

Bingo on that line.
