Simply Beautiful

I feel this movie was simply beautiful. Like Jimmy "sweeite boy" Stapp, I have been suffering from depression for the last few years and this movie really made me cry (but i'm a guy? real men don't cry!?!) and left me feeling much better at the end of it.
I really would like to buy the DVD and was wondering if anyone knew where I might find the DVD (or if it even exists) as I figure this DVD will be pretty hard to find. I have looked on Amazon and play.com but my search yielded no results. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

i i too thought this was a beautiful though at times achingly sad movie, that was very well acted. As far as dvd releases go ive looked in the past for made for tv movies on dvd and video without great success, the best bet maybe is to put a posting on ebay or such like for anyone who might have a vhs copy if you dont mind having a video as opposed to a dvd, or if you tape in After Jimmy maybe someones already selling it.i know there was quite a lot of made for tv movies released by the same company on video some time ago so maybe After Jimmy will crop up eventually on dvd.Good luck for the future Mark

I agree--keep a watch out for the film on Amazon. If the film is being shown in health classes, as many have indicated, perhaps you might even get a copy through someone (an old teacher, someone in the media center perhaps?). Maybe someone here can even tape it for you. I would if I were able.

You're so right: don't EVER buy into the notion that "real men don't cry." That's crap. REAL MEN are honest about their feelings and take steps to overcome depression. Don't give up hope. What you said was very courageous. All the best. D

I watched this movie again on youtube it was very sad. I always feel bad for the mother when she sees Jimmy's body and when Jimmy's sister says are we ever going to see Jimmy again? Maybe I can ask the library if they have a copy.
