Was he really going to do it??


In the scene on stage with Lorenzini's puppet play, Pepe told Pinocchio that Lorenzini meant to burn them all. That never really made sense to me; why would Lorenzini burn his puppets, including the wildly successful Pinocchio?? Would he really have done it, or was the cricket mistaken?

He was going to burn the others ones to get back at Geppetto, but I didn't think he was going to burn P-Nokie.
