Any One Else Feel...

That the scene on the shore between Geppetto (Martin Landau) and Leona (Geneviève Bujold) were Geppetto confesses his love for her as he rows away to find his son was very power and heartfelt. It always got to me when I was younger and still does to this day.

I just watched the movie, and literally said out loud that they seemed to try to rush an entire side plot in while he was rowing. "Oh, by the way, I love you, and you married my brother, and you should have married me, and I've felt this way for 15 years, oh and I carved the wood the night before my brother's proposal to you!"

If Jimmy cracked corn and no one cares, why is there a song about it?

well, he was kinda in a rush but wanted to get that out there before he gets eaten. Anyways the story is much less about him and his lost love than about Pinocchio, and if they dwelled on his love triangle, people would be disappointed that that side story took up too much time. I was personally happy with the story originating from his heartbreak and him getting the chance to let her know very last minute. It's like Princess Leia telling Han Solo that she loves him and him just being a cocky bastard about it. While it's a great moment, the movie isn't about how much she loves him and how much he loves her back.
