Pulp Fiction wannabe...

....But never really succeeds.
Forgettable film if not for Charlize Theron.

Way better than Pulp Fiction.

reply

Agreed.

I don't really see the similarity to Pulp Fiction.. There's not the same dialogue, but I really enjoyed it.. I think the only similarity with Quentin Tarantino films is the music but I don't think it's trying to be Pulp Fiction

reply

Its not better than pulp fiction, but a nice try.

Its that man again!!

reply

It is in no way a Pulp Fiction wannabe. 

I do not have attention deficit disor...Ooh, look at the bunny! 

reply

not at all, but I was totally expecting some mook to bring that up, considering idiots on the internet bring it up regarding any movie with intersecting storylines, as though Pulp Fiction were the first movie to ever do that.

just re-watched for the first time since it came out (well 6m later from blockbuster on vhs!) and every bit as much fun as the first time, great perfromances (aah! teri! sigh. before she was a skelington covered in parchment) and a knowing wink at hollywood mores. My lad (13) said, "everyone's bad in this!"

the perspective in time puts to rest the PF comparison, love both but there's a diff between wry and smart-arsed pleased with yourself humour.

and delighted that the thread is still active !!

not a masterpiece but a little gem

I love Pulp, but why in the hell should there be a conflict of interest between the two? Tarantino is as popular as he is because "Top Critics" have made him their darling. I'd like his movies all the same if they panned him so it doesn't matter to me. And it's the same for Herzfeld and "2 Days"; critical praise or no, it is a great movie.
