Did these kids ever go to school?!
I know the step dad was a teacher but those kids seem to wander New Bedford in packs getting into trouble in every episode I've seen.

Most of the seasons actually began in the summer when they had no school.
Also, there was plenty of time after school to get into mischief especially in those days when children entertained themselves outside instead of watching TV or using the computer indoors when school let out.
They did go to school, but Hub did not do very well--he had to repeat Grade 6, as I recall. Like that poor kid didn't have enough on his plate as it was!
