Queston regarding the end of the series. Possible spoilers inside

Years ago i was sitting around unable to sleep yet again and came across an episode of viper being shown on USA. The episode was about Joe going out alone at night trying to catch all the criminals he used to work with. During one of these nights, the viper is crashed into a telephone pole and is hit by the power lines. This causes the car to morph back into its normal red dodge viper mode and Joe's memory to get messed up. He now was able to remember everything that happened before the police put the chip in his head, but everything after that was gone. Joe ends up running into an old criminal friend and kinda reluctantly helps him with a kidnapping while thinking he must have just stolen the viper somewhere. His co workers eventually figure out whats going on and learn that if they don't find Joe soon, the chip in his head will kill him. As the episode ends, Joe and his partner are standing on a bridge aiming guns at each other. Ok, so its a two parter thats gonna be continued next week, i figured. Well, the next few weeks come and go and it seems they took viper off the air again. Its been years since i've seen this episode and i have yet to figure out how it ends. Was this the last episode? How the hell does it end? This has been driving me nuts ever since.

Well after looking up it just now on www.projectviper.com i see the episodes were

21. Split Decision (Part One)
Original air date: 5/15/99
An electric shock causes Astor's brain implant to malfunction, turning him back into a criminal.

22. Split Decision (Part Two) Series Finale
Original air date: 5/22/99
Astor agrees to have a deadly brain implant removed; a distraught Westlake must focus on saving a kidnapping victim.

I still would like to know what happens in the last episode or maybe even if its somehow possible, where i can see it for myself.

I believe at the end of the last episode, Joe Astor and Cameron Westlake finally admitted their feelings for each other (after what they went through in the two-part finale), and just drove off in the Viper (although they weren't supposed to take the Viper with them if I recall correctly!).

Also there was some allusion to the fact that Joe had the memories of both his current self and his previous self as Michael Payton, and that he chose to stay on the good side.
