I was a 14 year old impressionable girl when i saw this on t.v...however

It made far more of an impact on me than the James Cameron Titanic. The only switch I could really see happening--because she is a flexible tv and movie actress is that Kathy Bates should have been in the television role. She could still have been in the movie. And who can push George C. Scott out of the way? Certainly not Vincent Garber. I just really remember thinking wow, of Catherine Zeta...that is the most beautiful woman ever. And I had reoccuring daymeres from Tim Curry's role as...whatever the hell he played in the movie. Some really great potential, but when I read the reviews now and I see rush job, and the love interest with Catherine didn't really mature into anything--I get it. But it was a tv movie and for what it's worth I really like it. I think there's a reason aside from cable networks--that there aren't television movies anymore. I mean we don't get to see CBS, NBC or ABC doing specials or as they used to be called 'made for tv' movies anymore. Budget? Maybe. I think it has more to do with more craftsmanship and quality writing going on some of the shows that are on network and cable television. So i guess bye bye to the after school specials too. kids today are missing out on those! lol.
