Why? I know some programmes have certain scenes edited on DVD release (or TV repeats) if dodgy legal situations could arise from comments made on a particular programme (mentioning of brand names in negative way, slagging off someone in the media eye being the most obvious I suppose - like when Big Brother put 'bird song' over the house mates talking when broadcasting live when necessary) but otherwise, apart from reasons of time I don't see why they'd omit certain scenes.
