FromWhat I remember This Show didnt Take off till the second series...

What was the turning point? was it Anna on Coke or the bisexual fella.

Several things if I recall correctly:
1. Warren being *fired* (in all honesty he had to leave his job) and leaving to go on his trip
2. Egg making a go of it running the diner
3. Ferdy becoming a more integral character

I don't think there was a "turning point" per se. You must remember in 1996 Jack Davenport, Andrew Lincoln and Jason Hughes weren't household names.

I started watching it originally half way through the first series - (the episode where Warren and Ferdy slept together). For me it was word of mouth - one of my mates said that there was a great programme on TV etc. The week after I was telling everyone I knew to tune in!

I remember they repeated the first series in early 1997 just before the second series started so I was able to catch up on the episodes that I missed.

Yeah this show had massive "word of mouth", by the end of second series felt like everyone in their 20's was watching it.

I'm proud to say I watched all of it from Series One Episode One - when it started, I'd recently finished university and was living in the countryside, and was madly jealous of all the characters living in London and having what seemed like the best time ever! Watching it again, its appeal hasn't diminished ten years on - well written, completely believeable and great, great characters.
