Faviorite character(s)

For me Anna stood out a mile and was excellently portayed by Daniela Nardini. Witty, cutting and honest but with a insecure side which sometimes surfaced. She was by far the most interesting character.

Ferdy was also very good and his interactions with Miles were superb.

Although he had a relatively minor role compared to the other main characters, I thought Graham was very good, mainly because he was so cool. Cyril Nri is now a regualar in The Bill and I think that is very sad. He is so much better than that 3rd rate rot.

Miles. I disliked him to begin with but he grew on me. To begin with it was Warren, but I didn't really miss him when he left, and I immediately liked Egg but then became kind of bored with him.

I fell in love with Miles in the first episode and after watching the re-runs realised i still am. how sad is that!!!!

Anna is definitely my favourite as well. She got the best, most witty lines. I also like Rachel and think she should have been given the room, not Ferdy. I liked Keira until she dumped Jo (insane!). I like Jo too.

I didn't like Warren, Ferdy, Miles and Graham.

Nah, definately Warren. I think he was funny... but also extremely likeable and the kind of person you could have as a friend because he was the most level-headed character in the show, and you know he'd be honest and give you good advice.

Keira, Miles and Jo

Cry God for Harry, England and St George

They were all great, but Miles was the best :-)

Anna by far is the best chracter. She is hilarious! I also like Milly, the scenes with her and Rachel are classic.

In order:

Kira -- Luisa Bradshaw-White always irrates me enormously in anything she is in and when she first arrived on the scene here I was prepared to hate her, but it was not long before she became my no. 1 favourite.
Anna -- the star of the show, need I say more?
Jo -- so funny
Egg -- I identified with him a lot
Warren -- I identified with him just as much, though in a different way
Ferdy -- sometimes ambiguous and taciturn, but in spite of, or maybe because of, this likeable.
Milly -- very interesting character; annoying and sympathetic all at the same time. Surely everyone has met someone they know they should like, that everybody around them likes, but who they hate with a passion.
Rachel -- I never really liked her, but I felt sorry for her. Fascinating character and IMHO, supremely lonely.
Miles -- I hated him a lot of the time, but occasionally he could have some very redeeming moments.

My least favourite character was Delilah and I never warmed to Lenny or Francesca.

I hate people who pretend they're superior; it makes it much harder for those of us who really are.

I agree Jo is funny, because of his humourless intensity and taking himself so seriously - especially in the scene where he is talking with Miles after thinking Kira is pregnant, and constantly looks downwards rather than facing Miles. The impact of this scene, and of Jo's others with Miles, rely largely on the synergy between the two characters/actors and their slight difference in age and status (vis-a-vis Anna, and in life generally) - Miles usually seems wryly detached and mildly amused, but not really interested in Jo's traumas.

However, this is marred by his 'lightening up' in the last few episodes - especially when attending Miles' wedding (perhaps because he had just got back with Kira after being dumped). It is nice if anybody feels cheerful/happy, of course, but, dramatically speaking, it seems inconsistent with his character and is less amusing to watch.

Anna. End of. I thought it was classic when Miles and Delilah were having loud sex in the room next door and Anna lights up her cigarette and says "For Gods Sake, just *beep* c*m" So simple. So great.

reply

Anna was definitely the best character. She and Miles were one of the best on-off-will-they-won't-they TV couples ever.

I liked Egg, Warren nad Fredy, but I couldn't really warm up to Milly, she was my least favourite out of the main characters.

I hated, despised and was disgusted by Delilah, but this was obviously exactly the way it was supposed to be.

better sorry than safe

...which isn't surprising. I wanted to like her, but she was so up-tight. She was always the sensible one, the one who called the plumber, bought the gifts, organised the flatmate ad. But could not be that rational with her own life and feelings. I thinks she's a very interesting character, but not very likeable. But god knows we've all had a little bit of Milly's insecurity is us. Do they like me? Is that colleague being nice or looking for ways to stab me in the back? Does my partner still love me? Are they having an affair?

I love the scenes between Milly and Anna, when no-one else is in the house, or they're sitting an a bedroom talking. I think the connection between the women is really genuine. Milly really needs to her Anna's "just do it" and non-judgemental opinion. And Anna sometimes needs to hear the level headed responses from Milly.

Great writing.

I can't even remeber a Graham!!

Anna - hard nosed almost to the core. Soft centre buried very deep rarely seen. Messed up never to be "normal" never to be completely happy - but accepts that as her lot.

Miles - arrogant, gorgeous, equally as messed up as anna but for different reasons. Gets away with it more though cos he is male and being an arrogant ar@e is allowed.

Warren - funny, sensitive, neurotic, niaive and street wise all at the same time. The second series lost something when he left. Best final line of any series.

Egg was far and away my favourite character, the others like Anna had good lines etc but he really summed up what it's like to be twentysomething and confused about what direction to take. I really wanted to be his mate, he was a nice guy but also a good laugh and easy going.

Anna - easily one of the most fascinating characters, amazingly played by Daniela Nardini. She is one of those cool people I would love to be my best friend

Egg - Just a lovely, sweet, humble guy. Funny and non judgemental, whats not to like

Ferdy - Another fascinating character. Just always felt really drawn to him and found him exciting.

Rachel - Yes really. I dont deny there was an element of decepitfulness and something not quite trustworthy about her, but Milly was a cow to her from the off. If anything, Milly pushed Rachel to do what she did. I actually think she was a very lonely and sad young woman.

Dislikes

Milly - I thought the character was very interesting and the actress played her stunningly, but in real life I wouldnt be able to stand someone like her. Way too uptight, cold and unfriendly.

Miles - Dont get me wrong, he had his redeeming side occasionally and underneath that pompous, sheltered middle class persona there was a beating heart, but overall I just found him to be an absolute twat. Hes afraid of anything a bit out there and different and I can never forgive him for stabbing Anna in the back over her tenancy and the way he treated Ferdy.

Kira - I know everyone loved her and found her bubbly and fun but I found her just irratating. For a start she is an absolute bitch to her "friend" Kelly, a real nasty piece of work with things she says to her. I know Kelly was no angel and quite devious, but what the hell did she do to deserve that? Also didnt like the way she messed around with Jo who was a lovely character and, in my opinion, out of her league.
