horrible, discriminatory show

1. let me clear up a misconception. Yes, this was a ratings hit. But that's because it was in the coveted spot between Seinfeld and ER (or was it Friends and Seinfeld?). Anyways, it was a time slot hit. As soon as this show was deservingly shipped off to a time slot that wasn't the best, it tanked immediately and was cancelled. Meanwhile, great shows like Newsradio got bounced around the schedule like a ping pong ball and had lower ratings. You won't find any intelligent person trying to argue Suddenly Susan is superior to Newsradio.

2. discriminatory show. So they're in San Fransisco, yet there's no gays or Asians? Highly unlikely. And how about that time where they were cracking down on sexual harassment in the workplace, and Brooke Sheild grabs her coworkers ass. Horrible. I had that happened to me before, and it's shameful, not something to laugh at. Why not joke about someone being raped while they're at it?

3. The cast just wasn't there. Brooke Sheilds in a comedic role as your star just isn't going to work. I know alot of my fellow gays like Kathy Griffin, but I find her to be obnoxious as hell and she was a carbon copy rip-off of Beth on Newsradio. The only reason people remember David Strickland at all was because he died. Just about everyone gets more famous and loved after they die. The guy was an alcoholic and drug addict and killed himself, pardon me if I don't overflow with sympathy.

reply

So you're stereotyping San Franciso as all gay and asian?

reply

No you discriminatory moron. I just asked how likely it was for there to be no gays or Asians in their office, given how many there are in San Fran.

And you don't come across as a likeable demographic, so pardon me if... aah, screw it - you know the rest of it.

What the heck? did you watch the same series i did? they touched on Gay on several episodes. Infact in one episode they featured a gay couple getting married and this was back in 1997 where it was more of a controversial subject than it is now.

reply

I remember the episode with the gay wedding. I was all ready to point it out and then saw that somebody else had already done it. In any event, I thought that episode told a pretty good story.

reply

And best of show...Andrea Bendewald.

reply

I am not sure who Andrea Bendewald is. Care to inform me?

reply

She was the gorgeous blonde who had a small role as a bitchy boss in an office if I recall.

reply

Okay. Now I know who you are referring to.

reply

Ah, it's so fun to vist old boards and come across retarded posts like this. Good for a laugh!

I'm having trouble with a patient of mine; he's a teenage drug addict who's being molested. By me.

There's a very special place in Hell for unfunny and sadistic assholes like you, and Satan is just licking his chops.

reply

But how did David get on the show to begin with? "Sympathy because he died" can't be the answer to that!

I guess you dont have to love Brooke Shields, but she is a very popular star. She has played such roles as the lead in "Cabaret" - certainly a demanding part.

And it's a shame that you had to deal with sexual harrassment on the job, but you're not making it clear how this show made light of it. The comment about Brooke "grabbing her co-worker's ass" needs more context to it, before we can decide it's some sort of endorsement OF sexual harrassment.

So, the OP is not even sure what time slot Must Flee TV gave Dress, I mean Brooke Shields, but we should take Sparky seriously.

Show DID suck, but not as hard as Sparky.

Must Flee TV was a travesty. The Single Guy?! Jonathan Silverman?! Seriously?! Goyim are much
more more funny.
