I like this show, but I have a question...

I watch it almost everyday on TBS; but is it me or does it seem that its one of those shows that was destined for syndication? I watched it when it was on regular networks for the first one or two years. But after it went to TBS, it just has a "meant for syndication" feel to it. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing it in anyway. After all, one of the creators, Winifred Hervey, was a writer previously on the Cosby Show, Golden Girls (one of my favorites of all time) and the Fresh Prince. Like all the shows above, I've always thought that the wittiness of them was cut rate (though I think the best was Golden Girls, they got away with so much stuff at the time that I think other shows of the time only dreamed about getting past the censors). Like I said, I'm not dissing it at all.

I thought that was a good thing.

In my mind, I think it's great to be able to have your show to be continually played over and over again after the series is over.

A show goes into syndication when it reaches 100 episodes, right? So wouldn't it be a good thing to reach 100 episodes, I mean it's not there fault that the show is in syndication, that's just what happens.

So are you saying it's a bad thing when shows reach their 100th episodes?

At any rate, I think I know what you're saying, I guess you're saying that it's not dated, like I watch 227 on TVone, and that show is a little dated, but shows like the Cosby Show, and Fresh Prince seem like they could still be running new episodes today, although the Cosby Show would have to have stopped by the late 90s, say 1996 or '97. On the Cosby Show I would like to have seen Theo after graduating college, maybe he or Vanessa have children and move into the house with their parents. Or, Theo lives in his own home but has his children living with his parents so his parents can raise his children for him. I think I would also have liked to seen Rudy grow up into a young woman, maybe the series could end with her going off to college and Cliff and Clair celebrate finally having the whole house to themselves, which was what the show was basically about (of course Olivia goes back to live with her parents sometime after Denise had her first child).

No, its certainly not a bad thing when a show reaches 100 episodes. To me it shows that it had staying power when it was originaly shown

Do you mean something like "Good enough to be remembered but not great enough to be immortalized"? The show was good, but not fantastic. It kept you interested while you were watching, but if you missed an episode or a few you wouldn't be heartbroken. Reminds me alot of Ed and Spin City.

Lol the Golden Girls was so cheesy, the only show that got away with the most was married with children, in living color and the Wayans bros. And some Seinfeld. Anyway Steve Harvey and Jamie Foxx were classics they had some risky comedy especially Jamie Foxx show.
