I've been a michael j fox fan for years, I really like mike more in spin city. But charlie is quite funny too... I don't think spin city was the same after mike left due to the new cast and old ones leaving... but it was still alright to watch. But overall Mike gave the best laughs and jokes. I like Heather Locklear and Charlie sheen together but spin city defenetally feels a lot different lol.

Mike is definitely better but charlie is quite good too. My favorites, though, are the ones with charlie after mike comes back.

Mike without a doubt. I am not crazy about Charlie Sheen to begin with, but him doing comedy was such a stretch. Mike is irreplaceable. He is a sitcom genius who is a legend in television.

Lets see, uptight workaholic or laid back, fun loving ladies man? My personal choice is Charlie Crawford. I mean, how can you top lines like "I had groupies and a tour bus, and I wasn't even in a band" or "I wanna know why I have Ace of Base tattooed on my ass. I want to remember the year 1984."

"Immortality. TAKE IT. ITS YOURS"- Achilles

Of course I liked Michael J. Fox better. He was the whole foundation for the show. Charlie was okay, but the whole dynamic of the show changed once Mike left and he joined the cast. The chemistry Mike Flaherty had with the mayor was a lot better too. You really felt like Mike really believed in the mayor like a father and didn't want to see him fail. Plus when the mayor did something completely outrageous, it was more funny seeing Mike react to it because his character was so clean-cut. On the other hand, Charlie Crawford was such a badboy that it wasn't as funny when the mayor messed up because Charlie would often mess up as well.

Mike would mess up, but only in his personal life with relationships. That's what made it work so well. Charlie Crawford's reputation sort of carried over into his work life to the point where he just didn't seem as credible as Mike did. Also not having James, Janelle, Stacey, and Nikki around didn't help either. Each of those characters played off of the rest of the cast so well. With Charlie and Caitlin spending most of their scenes together, you had Stuart, Paul, and Carter working off each other, which was okay, but not the same. Paul was best when he worked off of James. He and James would often compete against each other. Now with James gone, he had to spend most of his time with Stuart and Carter. It also didn't work quite so well because there were no other women around either. The other female characters balanced everything out. You needed that competitive female spirit against the males in the office. The females would often make the males look stupid and inadequate at times too, which was also a good thing. So overall, I liked it when Mike was there.

It wasn't even the same when they had him return for a few episodes with Charlie. Sure Michael J. Fox was still on fire with his one-liners, but it wasn't the same seeing him reduced to being just a secondary character.

Michael J. Fox of course... I'm a huge fan of him.

Mike was good but I think that Charlie made the show even better. I preferred his laid back, offbeat sense of humor to Mike's dry wit. Plus, Charlie was more believable as a babe magnet.

I actually preferred the week they experimented with Andy Richter.

Mike hands down.

The chemistry that the entire cast had for the first seasons was about as good as you can see on a sitcom. Nothing against Sheen or Locklear, but the show lost that 'magic' so to speak when Locklear came in Season 4. Then it declined even more so when MJF left. I can't say enough about the original cast and high quality of the show for the first three seasons.

Heather Loclear replacing (Stacy) Jennifer Esposito was a huge mistake in the first place, then for her dominate the show and take away even more from the once great supporting cast just dug a deeper grave for the show.

The show could have survived and even thrived if they kept the original cast for the entire show and just replaced Sheen for MJF because of his health problems.

I like Charlie Sheen, but I haven't been impressed with his sitcom work.
