Wgen I first saw Lazytown, I thought it WAS Jewel Staite playing the part!!!

I just assumed it was some Canadian show she did when she was younger.

But then found out it isn't her. But she sure does look like her, in my opinion.

and her mannerisms were also the same.

I was flipping through the TV, and I came across Lazy Town, and I literally sat there for 5 minutes with my mouth open. It was creepy how much she looked likeCat. And as I was watching it, a tiny tear escaped my eye, because I finally remember how much I missed Space Cases. What a great show.... Oops, here comes the waterwoeks again.....

Oh my God. 5 months ago I thought almost the same thing. More precisely, I thought "Wow she's a dead ringer for Catalina from 'Space Cases'!" Maybe it's the cute face with a bright wig that does it. Maybe they're related -but someone would have checked that eh? I too sat there for about 5 min watching the show because of that (before saccharine overload kicked in). Both shows are Canadian right? (Canandian shows all have this different feel to them.) I NEVER expected to EVER run into anyone who had that same thought!

By the way this is my first post here. Ironically I don't get to catch that many movies, but I'm the type of person who memorizes Voice Actors and Guest stars from Movies and TV Shows. I'm also the type to remember (most) Shows I've seen since way back in the early '80's! With this amazingly random thread I'm sure that a lot of people here probably have similar habits. Am I right?

By the way I finally regstered here because I was looking up Jewel Straite who is in the upcoming movie "Serenity" (it's a character driven space flick based on the series "Firefly" go see it Sept 30). I remembered her from "Flash Forward", and JUST found out today she was Catalina! But I'm sure you all knew all of this so I'll shut up. Still this site is awesome or the type of cross referencing I like to do. Blessings to you all just for being the type to remember this show!

I was shocked to see Catalina on an episode of Dead Like Me (a pretty cool, well-written show about grim reapers). She worked in some kind of shop as a psuedo-goth girl, and when she finds out, one of the characters, Mason, is reaper they have an encounter of sorts. Go Cat. Although it was nice to get a blast from the past, I hope to see her in more substantial roles.

Jewel Staite has had a pretty substantial career thus far. She starred on Firefly and in the feature film Serenity, and has done guest spots on a few TV shows, including a recurring role on the short-lived but fabulous Wonderfalls.

Yeah, I was absolutely stunned last night when my boyfriend put in his Firefly DVDs. It took me about three seconds to remember why I knew that face, and when I did, I was ecstatic. Of course, I got mercilessly teased for being so excited about that, but in my opinion, if you aren't down with Space Cases, you're a total jerk. *shrug*

Okay, I came across this post, then I went and booted my buddy off the couch to watch Lazy Town. Holy cheeses, you're dead on! She even has the hair! Okay, it's only one...slightly neon pink...shade, but her facial features and expressions are dead on. I've actually taken to watching some of the episodes of Lazy Town, then popping in my terribly fuzzy Space Cases tape. It's terrible, everyone's teasing me about the show, but I can't stop watching. She's just so damn cute! Cat was always my absolute favorite, and Stephanie reminds me of her so much! Cheeses, you were really dead on!

god...i loooved this show. couldnt remember the name of it for the life of me. and i saw it listed under someone else's guest appearances..can't remember whose. and now its allllll comin back. Catalina of course was my favorite, jsut as Kaylee on Firefly is. Jewel Staite is jsut the cutest, and most loveable actress, haven't seen a role of hers i didn't like, even when she played the bullying Kelly on an episode of "Are you afraid of the Dark?" she still had that innocence about her. which i love.
i guess Space Cases is almost like Firefly Jr. similar basic premise.
and Firefly is just ridiculously awesome.
i want the first season of Space Cases on dvd. i really do.

Hmmmm.... I had always thought of Space Cases as the pre-teen version of Star Trek: Voyager... After all, both of them have a crew on a spaceship that gets zapped off to the other side of the galaxy and are now trying to get back home...
