Even though he is talking about serious matters I almost burst out laughing when Dan Ackroyd appears. It's because his deadpan delivery reminds me of his performance in MR MIKE'S MONDO VIDEO (Praise the (Jack) Lord!).

So he wasn't recognized as much as a comedy star anymore but an established celebrity whose presence gives some credibility to the series. That was the idea, it probably doesn't work for those who revisit his comedy hits regularly.
