Gary Stretch's character

I've always thought the character played by Gary Stretch (the single father of one of Chloe's friend) in the Season 2 episodes "Cycle of Violence" and "Bloodbust" seemed a little mysterious.

I remember after he left Sam and Angel's house one time Sam had a confused look on her face that said "something about that guy doesn't add up".

I remember thinking that this guy might have been Jack or had something to do with him when I first watched the show but he was written out in the third series. Did anyone else get the same feeling?

I notice he's meant to be playing a character called "Jack" in something called "The Trade" this year, which only I could find funny.

Gary Stretch also played the role of serial killer Ronnie McDern in the season one episode "Cruel and Unusual." His southern accect was horrible but I really liked him as Rick in those two season 2 episodes you referenced.

I was really hoping the producers would have paired up Sam and Rick but it never happened. They then had her briefly dating Paul Sterling in season 3 but that didn't pan out either.
