News about a possible future of the series

Way back in 2007 (with small updates in 2008), when their mini-series "Tin Man" was about to air, Steven Long Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle, creators of "The Pretender", gave some interviews about a possible future of the series:
Here is one with Slice of SciFi: http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2007/09/07/sosf-interview-with-the-tin-man -creators-steven-long-mitchell-and-craig-van-sickle/ The part about "The Pretender" is towards the end.

Now on May 25, 2013, a new interview with them was published through a Pretender fanpage on facebook:
Q: In an interview in 2007, you said you’d probably continue the Pretender in digital format through Strange Highway Entertainment. Is this still a project of yours?
SLM: We are committed to continuing The Pretender experience for the fans and while it may not be digitally, THE PRETENDER LIVES.
CWV: In fact, for the first time in probably ten years we can say without hesitation that The Pretender will emerge in a whole new way -- and soon.

In further news, PARIS STAR Events (whoever they are) posted on Jun 4 on their facebook page:
- then, the survey spoke, most of you will be delighted to learn that The Pretender/Le Pretender/Le Caméléon arrived in head. We shall organize an convention of this show which misses to all of us, save the date in your calendar at the beginning of 2015, the Centre wants him alive!

Steven Long Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle, creators of "The Pretender" both have Twitter accounts for some time, but those only recently went alive with tweets about the future of the show and its actors:

And they have a new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PretenderCreators
An official website is already announced, but so far no URL.

Steven writes: The Pretender is returning - and soon. Jarod will be coming, chased by Miss Parker in a brand new way, very soon! It will be something you can sink your teeth into and wrap your mind around.

As of yesterday Andrea Parker, Ryan Merriman, Ashley Peldon and Jon Gries have publicly expressed their interest through various media outlets.

I'm really hoping this is true, but they said before they were going to finish it and they never did.

Don't give me attitude. I have my own.

I think if was gonna be a another movie or season of something i think it will be like something like jarod has a son or daughter that gotten taken from the centre and miss parker and she will make it right this time like her mother did and maybe everything will be solved in this movie and or maybe this one will be left off the 2nd movie its just thought and but it will be great if miss parker and jarod get together or something or maybe they can make them a couple, meaning she ran from the centre took jarods offer from the last movie and then the had a family then that's how the centre found out the their family and took its child or something
and this is just thoughts what i thought the season or movie will be about

I would be very happy to see a new incarnation of The Pretender, but we've been lead down the garden path before. I suppose some news is better than no news, but unless they actually follow up with something, it's just more rumour and speculation.

I understand your cynicism but this return is the real deal. The creators have done two video interviews, several other interviews and they regularly answer questions from fans. Also, they have a new website that will be launched soon.

reply

can't wait to hear about this website and wondering what it about also and thanks for the info tintinruiz your so great

It sounds like it could be a comic book or novels. It doesn’t necessarily sound like a series or film. tv shows going on to new “seasons” has become common place with brands like Buffy, Angel, Smallville and most recently X Files.

reply

The Pretender is continuing in novels, a series of graphic novels, (and hopefully) a cable-type series and/or movies.

reply

this post has gone quiet, will it come back as 1 more new season or TV movie?

reply

Might be anything. I just hope it does return.

reply

A reply after a just over 2 long years, I hope it does return as well :-]

Anything news about a possible return of the Pretender? It's been over 3 years since talk of a new Pretender project...safe to assume it's dead? If they're going to do anything, they'd better do it quick if they want to include Patrick Bauchau. I dare say he's not getting any younger.
