Question/Spoiler

They died eventually, didn´t they. Thinking about the ending. I mean, they made it out of the plane, but at the end when the phone rings at Kapten Holland´s and you find out that one of the air hostess' had died from the same disease that was the virus, that kinda means that all the people on board that plain eventually got the virus and died, doesn't it?

I who was so releved when they made and seemed to live happily ever after, got so sad by the end.

If all the people on board of the plane got the virus, it means so would everybody who would be in contact with them afterwards. I think in the end all of humanity would be infected with the virus.
At least, that is the way I interpreted it :)

reply

Many indeed would die since the virus had mutated into a more AIDS-like strain that lies dormant for a relatively long period, infecting other people without the host even knowing of being infected. This, of course, depends on whether the virus is able to be transmitted before the onset of symptoms.

Please don't make up things.

I think the flight attendant died because she'd had physical contact with the dead man. I don't think it was an airborn virus.

reply

In the book the virus mutated into a non leathal strain. 87% of the people on the plan were infected, but none died, or even got noticeably ill. only the guy that died from a heartattack had the lethal form of the virus
