Noel Fielding and Amstell
First of all I love Noel Fielding, but I find it said that he said the show Buzzcocks was actually ruined by Amstell's ribbing all the guests, so much that they became afraid to come on the show, now I would say that's not a problem with Amstell, but the insular, entitled, weak temperament of the guests who should be able to laugh at themselves. Noel had no problem with most people getting torn to shreds, I think he just couldn't take it himself. Sorry Noel, I love you, but I think you got thin skin.
But ya, they replace Amstell in season 23 for this reason which effectively neutered the show... why do you think the show ended just 2 seasons later? Because being overly nice to everyone is boring. It's not about being mean, it's about being real.

Amstell of course tore Noel's whole shtick apart on the show, accusing him of just throwing random things together with a modicum of honesty to keep it interesting, which I would argue is precisely what Noel does... I love some of his stuff, others is quite cringe, but I think Noel always redeems himself, but man, look at Noel Fielding's IMDB profile pic, it's awful and I think it speaks volumes to where the man is coming from... way out there... so I think one has to take it with a grain of salt, when someone cries that Amstell ruined the show because he was too mean...
Amstell kept the guests on their toes, and only entitled, spoiled brats got upset... Preston walked out, boo-hoo, he was an immature git that couldn't take any criticism, and what Amstell joked about his girlfriend's bio was hilarious. It's as if people don't understand comedy at all...
Amstell did not ruin the show. Amstell was witty and sharp, if he was just nice nice the show would be BORING as hell... I guess all anyone wants is status quo crap... but as an American, where ALL of our shows are way too BS nice, I hate it... it's fake and boring.
