Best Demolition of a Guest

So I was thinking who everyone reckons took the worst verbal beating in Buzzcocks history:

Nominees:

Donny Tourette (from everyone)
Anthony Costa (from Amstell)
Kenzie (from Lamarr years)
Kenzie (from Amstell years)
Richard Fairbrass (from Lamarr years)
Geri Halliwell (Never a guest but she got some serious slaggings in Lamarr's day)

Joey the Lips: The Lord doesn't like it when we whisper!
Billy Mooney: Why is he f**cking deaf?

reply

I might have to vote Costa on this one. Relentless...
Amstell also slammed Kimberly Stewart pretty well regarding her lack of occupation. "When did you know you had what it took to be Rod Stewart's daughter?"

reply

I just saw this on youtube - costa took it really well I think

I think Donny Tourette was too stupid to even notice he was taking a beating.
Anthony Costa knew what he was getting himself into, but you could still see the terror on his face through show, it was hilarious.
"we couldn't even get Lee!" lmao

Was Anthony Costa that guy from Blue? Simon pulverised him. :D

Preston didn't even get it too bad, but was "demolished" so much he walked out. It made me laugh so much when Amstell went "Oh no, we can't lose Preston" without a drop of seriousness in his voice.

reply

Donny entered thinking he was a punk, and went home a broken shell of a man (at last I hope so, the little swine /: )

'Don't be tellin' me about foot massages.'

reply

Donny is a punk. He's carrying on the real spirit of punk by not conforming. Do you think that non-conformism has a set stereotype? That goes against the nature of non-conformism.
Punk's real attitude is "i do what i want, not what you tell me". Donny does it all for a laugh and has a laugh with the show. Unlike most of the people on IMDB, Donny realizes that 'Buzzcocks is there for fun. Unlike Preston who wouldn't know a joke if it was tattooed into his forehead with a rusty machete. He got it worse by bringing it on himself with that attitude.

reply

Donnie is a prat just like his fans.

If you want to rebel dont listen to "punk"

reply

And if you wanna be an adult, don't go bad mouthing people on internet message boards. It's such a loser thing to do.
Everything bothers you! You know? You don’t what it is to have fun. It's just plain Baba Booey.

^ Completely agreed with Bill Bailey describing Donny Tourette as 'about as punk as Enya'. Tourette was clearly just being rebellious for the sake of it, and that's why his childish antics got pointed out by just about every panellist.

'Right, the shop is closed, everybody get out! Back on the streets, you time-wasting bastards!'

reply

What was funniest about that whole episode was that, after Preston had stormed off, all the other guests had a go at pretending to storm off. And it comes to something when one of those people is Madge off Neighbours.

you missed out amywinehouse
but out of that list, Donny Tourette

reply

"you missed out amywinehouse"

I considered putting Amy on the list but she wasn't of sound body or mind so was incapable of sticking up for herself although she pretty funny at times.

Billy Mooney: Why is he f**cking deaf?

i think the guy from blue took it all with good grace, unlike preston who seemed like he had never watch the show before! would have thought his agent would have warned him! donny touretts just seemed to be trying to hard to be a rebel. "hes smoking a cigeret!! something you can legaly buy in shops!!!"

I disaree. Antony certainly didn't verbally beat the audience, but I could tell he just wanted Amstell to shut up.

Lamarr, Phill and Sean's mocking of Dani Filth is some of the greatest television I've ever seen

reply

to be fair to donny, i think he knew exactly what he was getting himself into and decided to play up to it. it worked well

the guy from blue was pretty much the same. he took it very well

as for preston... as simon said "you can't go on celebrity big brother and get away with it!". he needed to be brought down a peg or two. glad simon was the one to do it

this music's so funky, it makes me want to obey the law!
vamos rafa!

I thought Philip Olivier took at least as much stick as Donny Tourette, but he took with good humour and came off very well. I loved Simon's obsession with his nipples and then Olivier using them to find the person in the line-up.

I thought Anthea Turner was the most embarassing. Although she did it to herself more than they took the piss lol. She is a complete biler.

donny tourette was a tool.

i disagree with kenzie though, from wat i remember he took everything pretty well didnt he?

He who never makes a mistake, never makes a discovery

reply

donny tourette is indeed a tool, a blunt unfunny witless specimen, Simon Amstel et al. wiped the floor with his sorry arse.

Definately Antony Costa (and the rest of Blue included). That was my absolute favourtie episode.
Best calls on Costa:
1. What do you do when you’ve got three sexy and talented stars but you need a fourth? You do what blue’s management did and you call Antony Costa

2. Do you still talk to them, or you don’t bother any more? And what do you say? And who writes that?

3.(On Popworld) I didn’t try to take the pis out of blue. You just came on and said very stupid things… I was mainly reacting.

4. Like Paul Mcartney you were part of a supergroup. What would you say are the main differences between the Beatles and Blue?...Of course the Beatles played and wrote their own music, but Blue didn’t bother with such gimmicks

reply

My vote goes to Kenzie in the Lamarr years (although I personally would love to be mercilessly teased by a gang that includes Lucy Porter... ! )

I'ma have to go with Antony Costa, while he took it like a champ, he got it absolutely terrible from Amstell lol. I like Bill Bailey's dive in front of Antony, "oh I was about to take a bullet.." XD too funny!

"I don't know why I go walking at night
But now I'm tired and I don't want to walk anymore"

reply

Not a guest, but one of the episodes was one big joke about Craig David and his love of rabbits :D

We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.

reply

Jonathan Ross got taken down by Lemarr!

reply

Anthony Costa. He took it well though, so good for him. Donny Tourette actually deserved it.

reply

I felt quite sorry for Ant Costa, he just got fooked like no other guest before or after him.

i dont why Simon just decided to do that.
