It's TOO intelligent for kids today

Least of all you can be sure that's Nickelodeon's mindset.

My mom never really saw this show when I was a kid so I showed her some of the ones on Youtube, NO kids' show today, EVEN with teenagers, would DARE do a show where on a regular basis the leading kids' lives are often in peril: the man-eating swarm of fish under the shack in Hot Seats 2, the Alley Cat creeping up behind Shelby to strangle her with a stocking, the implication that Shannon Gregors was fed to the alligators in Gator World, they wouldn't touch any of that today with a 10 foot pole for a Y7 show, they're afraid anything intellectually above a stupid talking sponge is going to make their little minds shut down. Thank God for Youtube, and the book series.
