Too bad Nickelodeon can't pull its head out of its butt and give it a REAL release, it and Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Kenan and Kel and all the greats.

reply

yeah, true

but stores are bad about carrying things due to the economy. This is simply a way to be able to make a copy only when the customer actually pays for it. That way, money isn't wasted pre-making copies for stores that aren't gonna carry it in the first place

I mean, look at the Shout Factory Nickelodeon releases. They started in 2011, with full season sets of hey Arnold, Wild Thornberrys, hey Dude, Danny Phantom, Rocko's Modern Life, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, angry beavers,

Stores weren't really carrying those. I had to order almost every set off of amazon.com

Then they started making any set that took more than 2 discs to make partial sets

Then they made the Shoutfactory.com exclusives. Then they started putting out Complete Series sets of Hey Arnold, CatDog, And now Hey Dude and giving them early releases to Wal-mart.

I can't really blame Nickelodeon for doing the made-on-demand route. I just wish they didn't use computers and DVD-R. but I'll take what I can get. it's better than nothing

The problem is Nickelodeon's forgotten about that lost art of advertisement, if when they released these shows on DVD they would take out commercials on TV AND those stupid online advertisements and go 'Hey all you 90s kids! Now you can revisit all the great television you grew up on with ______ _________ and ______ now out on DVD and Blu-Ray', it's good enough for new releases of movies only 3 months old, people would appreciate more seeing a similar ad for the shows they grew up on 20 years ago and have actually been WAITING for.

I agree. I was excited to find out the complete series was finally available, but the DVDs play like poorly encoded quicktime files on my computer, DVD, and Blu-Ray players. They play best on my computer (although still a bit pixillated whenever fast motion occurs), but it's almost unwatchable on my DVD and Blu-ray players. It plays almost like a stop-motion movie. I hate to double-dip, but I hope this series gets an actual DVD-quality release at some point.

I wish it would too, in the meantime somebody posted most of the episodes on Youtube, but the first person to upload the original 10 or so had theirs taken down, which means several of my favorites are YT history: The Alligator Mystery, The Eye of the Storm, etc.

You can download the first two seasons (except for "Two Faced") on iTunes or Amazon. I bought Season 1 off iTunes a few years ago, and the video plays much better than the DVD-Rs from Amazon, although the picture quality from the download version isn't quite as sharp.

about the DVDs playing poorly....

I only had that issue on my Philips surround sound dvd home theater system. they played fine on my sony blu-ray player, computer,

Then Again, I've had problems with that Philips and my first sony blu-ray player (not the same one as now) reading certain brands of Dvd-r before. So, I think it could be the brand of DVD-R discs they used causing players not to read them correctly

my first sony Blu-ray player, Any Sony Brand DVD-R Disc, it would do what Shelby woo is doing on my Philips player. DVD+R by sony played fine. Odd sony discs being weird on a sony Player

The philips player doesn't like to read TDK brand DVD+R discs but will read TDK DVD-R
